Full interior project and concept designed by Melanie Craig Ltd. This project included spacial layouts, wall cladding, kitchen and bathrooms, custom joinery, window treatments, interior palettes, textiles, bespoke furniture design, manufacture and procurement.
WALK THROUGH / Plush and minimal furniture brings the conversations outside to this enclosed courtyard/ Large scale geometry; vertical cladding hugs the curvature of the interior wall enclosing the kitchen / Angles and curves sit side by side, throughout / Lukeke lighting elevates the palette in glass above the lounge area with custom silk rug / Floating walnut sits atop a steel base in the Melanie Craig Ltd designed dining table, flanked by green felt Italian seating / Rich hues for evenings on conversational furniture, the wine fridge within reach / Vertical lines continued into the minimalist kitchen and beneath the breakfast bench / Bespoke joinery around the fire and TV space recedes into the background, with lighting features at the touch of a button / Bold green echoes through the furnishings / Terracotta bathroom with David Trubridge lighting above the bathtub, Buster + Punch lighting by the sink / Understated palettes in textured excellence for the bedrooms.
BESPOKE IS THE NAME OF THE GAME
We brought this home to life with bold pops of colour through bespoke furnishings, to compliment the dynamic interior architecture. The main living area's magnificent curve splices through the height and volume of this stunning home. It was important for the furniture pieces to speak up in such a large space. The commanding combination of colour, form, and upholstery choices really puts personality and warmth into this interior.
JOINERY FEATURE / FUNCTION
Areas of sultry deep toned joinery are places of focus for cosy evenings, yet simultaneously recede into the background when the space is used for entertaining guests. Timber features echo throughout the space, a continuum that takes the eye through the expansion and contraction of the curved and the linear.
INDOOR / OUTDOOR
Spaces for all weather, fireside evenings, or afternoons on the deck with the trickle of the water feature beneath the ponga. Anchored by upholstered outdoor pieces, bringing the plush to the outdoors. Colour palette repeated and underlined, this whole house tells of the vision, decisiveness, and personality of its inhabitants.
